Emma’s POV: Hell hath no fury like a mother ignored. I never intended to go this long without talking to my mom, but with the way everything has been happening all at once, I’ve barely had time to breathe, never mind catching up with family. Now is the time for me to pay the price of my negligence, apparently, because being a grown woman with two kids of my own sadly does not exempt me from the infamous Frida Hashimi yelling fest. “Just because you’re a big lawyer now,” Maman continues to rant at me in Farsi, “you think you’re too good to talk to your family?
