Scottish author, poet, and Christian minister George MacDonald (10 December 1824 – 18 September 1905) was a family friend and mentor to Lewis Carroll. It was the enthusiasm of MacDonald’s children for an early draft that encouraged Carroll to pursue publication of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
