Waiting for Her Mate

Chapter 2

We started our journey to school after saying our goodbyes to our parents, I can't help the nagging feeling I am getting from the moment I saw mom's face. I know that she and dad fought again but what I don't understand is the reason behind their fight, I don't like to see them upset with each other because I know they are hurting without each other. They are mates and I know they love each other, although I know mom is all about class and stuff, she likes to spend money on herself take care of her but she also loves us all a lot. Is there really a reason strong enough to make them forget their love for each other and that their fights may have a bad impact on the twins. I have seen they fight a lot since the last couple of years but I never wanted the twins to know about them because they already have a tiff with mom because they think she doesn't love us which is not the truth she loves us all a lot especially the twins, they are both her heart and soul, yet they believe they don't mean anything to their mother. I have lost all sort of hope I once had that they would stop fighting or the twins would change their opinion for our mother but now I have lost hope, the only thing that never lets me give up is the fact that at least we have our entire family. We stay together like a family and till the time all of us are together nothing could go wrong.

Our walk to the school went with me thinking about everything happening at home while the twins chatted happily about the latest gossip at school without a care in the world. It took us twenty mins to reach the school and still we had time before the classes start, we walked to our lockers and grabbed the books we need for the first class. Once we were done we walked to the school cafeteria to grab juices like we always do after we reach school, our walk to the cafeteria was the same as the walk to school. This school is owned by our pack the only people who attend this school are werewolves, actually, we have two packs one is the Cresent Moon Pack where we stay and the other one is the Silver Moon Pack which is our sister pack. Our Alpha and dad manage the Crescent Moon pack by staying here because it has more members and land while our third in command and head warrior manage the Silver Moon pack but let me tell you the other pack is not smaller because both our packs are the strongest packs in the entire country it's just that the Cresent Moon pack is the strongest. I don't know why the Alpha has not thought about merging both the packs together maybe it would even more difficult to manage five thousand wolves at one time. Yes, you heard that right, there are a total of five thousand members if you combine both the packs together. Crescent Moon has around two thousand and eight hundred members in the pack and the remaining members belong to the Silver Moon pack. I think it is difficult to take care of both the packs together so they must have decided to split responsibilities and the let the packs have their own territories even they are neighbours. Both the packs are literally beside each other so access to both lands is easier for the higher ranks and warriors when there is an emergency.

To be honest, I am very happy because school is coming to end for me by the end of the week, you must think that I must to kidding or I am dropping out of school. The answer is 'No', because I am graduating from high school early and it is possible because I have attended all the classes and I also appeared for all the exams. You see, I am a fast learner. I learn things very quickly and not to exaggerate I am already one of the strongest warrior in the pack but I don't believe in showing strength where it's not required. I have learned to fight so I can protect my pack and family whenever required but I don't like to show my strength or attitude to anyone especially not my family because I love them and I swore to protect them with my life. I just wish to turn eighteen as soon as I can so that I can find my mate, I know that the only one for me is my mate and I would never want anyone but my mate.

I was pulled out of my thoughts with the twin's chatter as they giggled loudly at something they said to each other, I had to roll my eyes at them because they laugh and giggle at stupid things. We walked to the counter ordering juices for ourselves, I ordered my regular guava juice because I just love it, while Eva ordered mixed fruit and Celina ordered her favourite strawberry juice. Our order was delivered to us in a few minutes and we made our way to our regular table where to sit and enjoy. I see three figures already seated at the table, they are none other than our Alpha's sons Damien the next inline Alpha, the younger one Victor and the youngest one Seth. Damien is going to turn eighteen in a few months while Victor recently turned sixteen and Seth he is fifteen years old. Damien and I are in the same class and school ends for the both of at the same time, Victor is 10th grade, Seth is in the 9th grade and the twins are in the 7th grade. We greeted each other and sat down to have our drinks, although in the same class Damien and I barely speak with each other, we both have the same schedule and basically attend all the classes together but for some reason, we barely hear each other's voices. My wolf always acts funny whenever we are around Damien, I think she crushes on him. I laughed at my thought but to honest what is not to crush on him, he has deep dark blue eyes and short thick black hair that draw you to him and every she-wolves have literally thrown themselves on him but I have never seen him paying attention to any of them and I think it is because he is also waiting for his mate.

"Saige, what are you doing after school today?" Seth asked, Victor, Seth and I have been best friends since we were kids, although Victor is older he has never acted like one. Whenever we are together we have a lot of fun, they are like the brothers I always wanted but never had

"Hmm, I don't know, Mom has asked me to be home early today because she wants to take me shopping for my birthday dress" I answered as I remembered that mom has telling me to be home early today

"So you are saying that you can't come home with us?" he asked with a pout and we laughed at him

"You know that I would never say no if I could" I replied and he nodded his head sadly

"Oh, my big baby! I'll make it up to you both" I said with a laugh as he lifted his head to look at me

"Do you promise?" he asked giving me his pinky finger and we laughed again

"Yes, my dear big baby brother I promise" I said locking my pinky finger with his as both Victor and Seth looked at me with a bright smile at my endearment. I usually call them brother because they are like one for me just then Eva had to laugh out loud opening her big mouth

"Oh my God! You call him a big baby yet you lock your pinky finger with his for a promise? Really Saige? Can the three of you ever grow up?" she asked with a laugh as the three of us glared at her

"Shut up Eva" we exclaimed together and she rolled her eyes at us

"I think we should head to class, it's almost time" I said gulping the last of my guava juice throwing the paper glass in the dustbin with Eva and Celina following me

"Yes mom" both of them mumbled and I rolled my eyes at them

We made our separate ways to the classes, the last bell rang as soon as Damien and I settled in our seats as our history teacher entered the classroom. Like I said before Damien and I are always mostly together and we sit beside each other in class but barely talk. Still, there are a lot of whispers around the entire school about us being together but we don't really care. The rest of the day was sent like any other day at school with classes and usual gossip and whispers, at the end of the way we left our separate ways for home. Damien, Victor and Seth left together while Eva, Celina and I walked our way back home
