"This isn't necessary," Nathan protested for the third time as Emma helped him up the porch steps of the secluded cabin. "I can manage on my own."
"The doctor said you shouldn't be alone for the first seventy-two hours after a concussion," Emma reminded him, one arm supportive around his waist. "And your place was surrounded by reporters."
Three days had passed since the injury. Three days of media frenzy over the leaked photos. Three days of carefully worded "no comments" and dodged questions.
Emma unlocked the cabin door with her free hand. "Besides, no one will think to look for us here."
