It was killing me inside to see all that blood come out of the incision. I could tell by the smell that there was a lot there but I guess I didn't realize there was going to be that much. Then to see and smell Dhampir blood, I felt like everything we were trying to do was failing and we were going to lose her anyway. If it wasn't for the fact that each Dhampir has a different scent of blood we probably wouldn't have known that this was Azariah's and not the baby's.
