Quietly, carefully, I slipped through the hall and down the corridor, keeping to the shadows.
And then I heard them. Their voices hushed.
“What the f**k happened?” Seraphina snapped, her voice sharp despite the hushed corridor.
“Are you seriously asking me that?” Sailas shot back, folding his arms. “Why would you suddenly introduce Ara to the entire court?”
“I was going to announce your engagement with Aurelia!” she hissed. “Instead—” Her eyes darted around. “Where is Aurelia?”
