“Why are we talking about our plan to leave again? I was asking what happened to Cyril!”
“And I told you, you won’t get an answer unless you come with us!”
“Which will never happen,” he answered with determination. I shook my head in dismay.
“Or is it your fault? You are his husband. You are supposed to protect her, but you’re busy playing games and messing up with my life. Or, you probably had done something bad to him just like what you did to your father?!”
My chest beat rapidly. I wasn’t aware of the words that slipped off my lips. I hadn’t thought about it. They were out before I realized it.
It’s when I see his eyes squinting and his lips parting in shock that I realize everything. My devil horns and tails quickly retreated. I bit the inside of my cheeks as my lips trembled.
