Rachel’s chest heaved as she clung to Damian, her fingers digging into his arm as if he were the only thing anchoring her in this nightmare. Tears streamed down her face, her breath catching in her throat with each sob. Every fiber of her being screamed for Victor to leave, to take the darkness he brought with him and disappear forever. But he wouldn’t. He was like a shadow she couldn’t shake, lingering, determined to haunt her. “Victor,” she whispered, barely able to find her voice through the pain. “Please… just leave us alone. I don’t understand why you’re doing this. You divorced me—you walked away.
