They leisurely rode along the meadow’s perimeter to cool their horses. Alexis worried herself sick over how she was going to face her family, but she should have known they would eagerly accept her again. It wasn’t completely over, of course. Alexis was certain there would be some awkward moments, but they would work on it as issues arose. Cadmus soared and dove above their heads. Occasionally, he disappeared beneath the surface of the lake at the north end of the meadow as he fished. Alexis breathed in the cool breeze, feeling refreshed, happy and truly content.
