Outside, a cool breeze played with her hair. She breathed deep, thinking she had just stepped out of another world and returned home. Glancing over her shoulder, Alexis stared at the observatory and knew she would probably never step foot in it again. It was not her destiny to unravel the secrets of the stars, if there were secrets to be unraveled.
Until that person arrived, the observatory would remain empty…waiting. With a sigh, she looked up at the stars. They seem so far away.
Alexis shivered. A light sparked. She turned to see a blue fire hovering just over the ground.
“Fay Fire?”
“I am afraid it doesn’t give much warmth, but it is better than nothing,” Artac answered.
