I woke up to a delicious smell poking through my nostrils. I fluttered my eyelids open, stretching my arms out as a small smile graced my lips. I can't remember the last time I woke up like this. The first thing on my mind was work. I looked at the small digital clock next to me, and my eyes widened. I had slept in it so late that it was impossible for me to go to work now. I searched for my phone and found it lying on the side table next to the bed. I looked into it and sighed when I realized I had missed a number of calls from Lana. I quickly texted her that I was unable to go to work today. Next, I opened a text from my mother stating that my father was awake and well.
