I should be relieved. Dana has given me a way out, a clean slate, and even offered to go back to being stepbrother and stepsister in our relationship. I should be happy about that. Ecstatic even. But as we make our way back home, my mind is awash with disappointment. It feels as though she’s dismissed me, as arrogant as that sounds. Like she’s decided that I’m no longer worth the hassle and that she’s determined to move on.
