My hand is in Duncan's, his grip quite tight to calm my trembling. We are seated on the rooftop of a medical facility, anticipating the arrival of May Second. But it had been minutes, and there was no one coming from the entrance.
"Maybe she doesn't want to see us," I suggested to Duncan, who wore a solemn expression in his usual black formal outfit and leather accessories.
"She doesn't know it's you."
"I guess. It's your name given and she probably hates your family name," I told him.
He sighs, about to reply when the door finally opens. A nurse in a white uniform emerges, revealing May Second with her head down, seemingly depleted, all the spirit she used to have was now taken away from her.
May Second looks up, spotting me. "June Third?" she gasps and blinks.
