I slept, if an hour in total of naps could be called sleeping. I was awake most of the night waiting for Graciella to appear in front of me, like the other night, but she didn’t come.
I wanted to curl up with her in bed, as sleep was still the best when she was around, but she didn’t appear. She didn't—even for the last chance, we could have done the innocent thing of sleeping together.
It was funny that even though I kept reminding myself that I couldn’t ruin her relationship with Henry, I still wanted Graciella beside me, her warmth and scent all over me. Red signals there, I knew. Having her next to me was stretching our self-control, one mistake, one oversight, and her world would crumble at her feet.
