CHAPTER 40 BLAKE For the first time in years, I felt liberated. Unplugged. All my phones were turned off. That “ding” sound sounded like a death sentence to me each time my phone pinged. Now–all my gadgets were turned off including my laptop, I would never hear that sound for days, freeing myself from that which limits freedom–ahh! I hope it could help repair my damaged heart. I heaved a sigh. Who was I deceiving? –no one–but my foolish self. I opened the one-bedroom suite reserved for me. Nothing extraordinary, I used the same unit if not a two-bedroom suite every time. I could have reserved a two-bedroom but Miguel has a suite for him paid for by his producer. Cool guy! Paid so much so he could film and fvck! Why was I not so lucky like Miguel?…—and that Henry?
