Jesse came to, to find herself lying on a cold stone floor. She groaned at the dull ache in her body and the groggy feeling in her head. She moved her arm to wipe her brow and felt the drag of something heavy attached to her wrist, hearing the jingle and scrape. She looked startled at her wrist to see she had been shackled. She sat up quickly, spinning around to see in the gloom that she was chained by both wrists to the stone wall behind her.
