Adler followed her out soon after, his plate piled high and sat down at the table in a chair opposite to her on the porch. He looked out at the well cared for garden with its little solar lights peeking up from here and there, through the screen that stopped the bugs from annoying them.
“Seems like we have two children now…”
Jesse snickered as she put her phone down and picked up her fork. Adler looked at her phone with a curious frown. Jesse smiled at him. “I messaged Celeste and told her to leave town for a few days, take Todd with her.”
“Hmm…good idea…” Adler nodded. They ate in comfortable silence for a minute before Trey walked out with two beers and placed them on the table.
