Jesse slapped her hands to Adler’s chest and pushed him back. “Wait, Adler…I really need to talk to you about something…”
He frowned and held himself up on his hands over her as she looked up at him with concern. “So that’s why the run? What’s so bad that you had to try and appease me first?”
“It’s nothing bad, really…I just wanted to take some time to talk about us…”
“Us?” Adler growled, moving off her and sitting up, grabbing the cardigan and making sure it was covering him. He gave her a filthy look. “What about us?”
Jesse sat up, combing grass out of her hair and grimacing at his angry tone. “I said it’s nothing bad…would you relax?”
