Valion sat out on the back patio of the castle that faced the place where both Jesse and Adler had gone in. It had been four days now since Adler disappeared and Valion’s phone was ringing off the hook with people wanting to know what was happening.
Valion had been sitting out here everyday and night, just waiting for some sign of Adler returning. He pricked his ears up as he heard bushes rustling and twigs snapping and then stood up with shock as he saw Adler step through the bushes along the tree line holding the hand of a small child. Jesse walked on the other side of the child holding his other hand. They were all smiling and laughing and swinging the child back and forth.
Valion frowned darkly.
