Adler strode out of the castle like he owned it as the mini coach pulled up. Valion hung back with his usual amused grin on his face. It was just starting to get towards dusk and the moon had been in the sky for a while, peeking out from the scattering clouds.
“He does strike quite a royal pose on the steps of the castle, doesn’t he?” Valion glanced at Jesse who was standing next to him on the top step. Jesse gave a cute little giggle behind her hand.
Trey glanced back and scowled at them from where he stood at the base of the steps.
Valion smirked at him and purposefully bumped Jesse’s shoulder with his own. “If you ever change your mind you know I’m always waiting in the wings…”
“Stop it…” Jesse whispered to him.
Adler turned at glared back at him, his eyes yellow. “I can hear every
