In the two weeks since Neo’s tests, the doctor has called with the results as they have come in. She is concerned about his red and white blood cell levels and his platelet count, as they are slightly abnormal. She prescribed him some iron and had us come back for another blood test to double-check. She is still waiting for a few other test results to come in.
I had told her we were scheduled to visit my old pack for a week, and she had encouraged me to go, insisting it would be fine to take Neo away for a week. She promised to call me as soon as she had any results, so with reluctance, I packed up enough clothes and supplies for me and Neo, and we set off for our trip.
