** Joel’s Point of View **
I’ve barely slept since I found out Freya is spending her night with Niall. Her conscious mind may have chosen me, but her subconscious one hasn’t, and that hurts. She may not be able to stop it from happening, and she may not physically be with him, but it still feels like a betrayal, like she has been cheating on me with him. The whole situation has been playing on my greatest fear that I’ve had from the moment I found out they were mates, that she would eventually give in to the mate bond and leave me to be with him.
Since we had moved to this pack and cut all contact with our old pack, my fears had slowly been fading, but now it’s back with a vengeance to torture me. When I do sleep, I have nightmares of Freya running back to Niall and taking Neo with her.
