It seemed we waited for hours on end. Nurses running here and there. Ambulances coming and going. Doctors walking through the lobby to speak with other families. Everytime a f*****g doctor walked out of those double door my eyes darted to them, watching every move, counting every breath they took, adrenaline pulsing, and my heart would beat loud in my chest. I’m positive everyone could hear it. In the midst of my small panic attacks I realized I was holding my breath.
