As soon as I got upstairs, I felt it. The uncomfortable cramps that would usually tip me off to being in heat. Within a few minutes of it, I felt like my skin was on fire. So, I did what I always did. I turned on the shower and stripped, letting the icy cold water cool me down. While it worked most times, this time felt different. I had butterflies inside. Because this time I wouldn't have to endure it by myself or try to drink any weird concoctions that would help get me through my heat. I wouldn't have to pray for mercy from the moon goddess to make it go by faster, to ease the pain. No, this time I had two mates who were more than happy to help me in any way possible.
