Everything seems to happen perfectly as the days pass by. Astro is the best partner any species can have. He is strict from the Corp but very affectionate when it comes to her.
They are both running the Corp side by side. They have the highest position around there as she found out. Back to their Mother Planet, Celestia is like a high ranking military intelligence. She also happens to be the princess.
She and Astro lead this group now as they are like the team leaders for this project. Astro is their prince, and he's assigned for this mission.
"Anika?" she heard someone call her name. But out of instinct, she did not react right away. She's used to being called Celestia now.
She doesn't want any complications with their perfect life. Celestial teaches her everything she needs to know about their kind. In return, she told her stories about her life as a human.
But she is curious, who will be calling her that name inside the Corp?
"Anika, you're Anika right?" She saw an older woman who looked like she was in her fifties already. She recognized her. She was her neighbor from her apartment before.
But she pretends that she's not a familiar face. Before she was able to talk to her, she saw Andie going to their direction.
"Ma'am, I'm sorry. Please follow me now for your interview." she motioned her to another office.
"I'm sorry about that, Your Majesty. Angie whispered. She winked at her and Anika just smiled at her.
Andie is her assistant now assisting her with her responsibilities at the Corp. She also thought that the human in her no longer existed.
He briefed her about the host's body she now has. She played along as Celestia laughed inside her head.
She even mentioned her being a coffee addict. "She was still conscious when we injected you to her brain. That's very frightening." she remembered Angie mentioned.
So, they are frightened of her while they drill a hole in her head? That's ridiculous! She's the one who should be frightened, not her.
She shrugged off her thoughts and looked around. There are so many humans around the Corp right now. What are they planning to do with them?
It seems that the Corp is” recruiting new employees” that's why they opened it to the public.
Many species from the Mother Planet came to migrate to Earth, and they are recruiting humans again to be their hosts.
As much as Anika felt sorry for them, her life will be at stake if she does something about it. It's not just her, but Celestia’s life will be on the line as well.
She felt selfish as she is enjoying her life better now than her mediocre life before she became Celestia.
Around the Corp, she is the boss along with her husband, Astro. Which happens to be her love of her life.
Sure, it seems that she and Celestia share him now, but he's not even aware of it. Anita felt her heart jump little whenever she thought about Astro.
”I wonder who he was before it all happened and where we're that guy was before?” she's daydreaming now.
Astro talks about her when they talk. He is very thankful that she became his wife’s host and how similar they looked.
He told her how brave that woman was facing him without a fringe. Sometimes Celestia even joked at him that he got a crush on her human form.
Anika tries to stop Celestia when they are having that conversation with Astro. She can feel that she's blushing and worry that Astro might notice.
”She's basically you in this world My Love. But forgive me if I feel excited when I meet her for the first time.” She remembered how Astro confessed.
Yeah, she is happy with this set up and she will not sabotage it just because her neighbor Mrs. Nichols recognized her.
She just hoped that she would not end up like her. Although they can exist together in one body like her and Celestia.
But she doubts that the others can do it. They are just a special case. Mrs Nichols may not be able to survive. She's already old. Maybe they can just spare her.
Until they can find another way to do the transformation, she better stay away from the other humans. She decided to get back to her office as it gets busy around the Corp now.
There are a lot of interviews and training that's happening all at once. She doesn't want to watch other humans turn into hosts like her.
As she was walking to the hallway, she saw Astro. "Hey, I was just looking for you". He said to her. She smiled at him. He's very formal when they are at the Corp.
"Why, do you need anything?" she asked.
"We have a meeting about the new training. Let's see the other officers." he said and took her hand.
Anika was surprised. They talked about being professional when they are at work. Not that she likes his gesture.
She followed him, and they went at the end of the hallway. It's the extension of the Corp since it's also their mother ship.
She wonders what will be new? They will all end up killing those humans anyway. But Celestia stopped her from thinking those thoughts.
As they approached the conference room, she saw the same faces again who she remembered from the party they had before.
She remembered what they did afterwards and she felt her cheeks blushed. Nothing from Celestia.
She realized that she can still block her private thoughts from her. She felt relieved.
Even if they already talk about it, that will still be embarrassing if she knows that she can't get it out of her head.
"Good morning. Is everyone here?" Astro greeted everyone. They all nodded, and they all sat down at their places.
Anika is wondering what this meeting will be all about. She also settles herself right next to her husband. They all focused on him and waited for what he had to say.
"We have to make some changes about the transformation this time around. We can't keep on killing those humans to use as our host. We will have to try another method to get a host and our kind to exist on the same body. That way, we don't violate life form without their consent."
Anika was surprised by what she heard. They just thought about this now?
This announcement created a buzz with other members of the board. "How can we do that? They will not agree to do it ofcourse." one of the guys said.
"You know humans; they are selfish individuals, they will not share their body with us!" the other one said supporting the other.
”I know you're going to say that. But the elders from the Mother Planet contacted me regarding this project. They disagree with our first operation. If we do the same process again, they will have to extract us from Earth, and we will not live here for free anymore." Astro answered all their questions with this.
Anika felt so happy with what she heard. She doesn't have to do anything anymore or start a revolution to spare humans from these species.
"We're not as evil as you believe we are." she heard Celestia from her head. She smiled.
Anika feels the need to support Astro since this will be for the good of humanity as well anyway. But she reminds herself not to reveal the truth about her and Celestia though.
"I agree with the elders. We have to value every life form. There are humans who are more than willing to do the transformation for us. You should watch TV sometimes. There are a lot of alien enthusiasts who will give their lives to be taken." Anika said.
"Are you sure about that Celestia?" One of the women beside Anika asked.
"Yes. Trust me, there are a lot of them. We don't even have to force them. They are sending signals out there to the universe so our kind can find them." she replied to her.
It seems that the board considered what she said and they all agreed. It's better than to get back to the Mother Planet.
Their planet had been damaged so severely, and it's not the best time to get back there. When the other alien life forms tried to destroy it, the living conditions there got affected.
It cannot support all of them right now. Some of them need to stay here on Earth. But they have to follow what the elders want them to do.
"That's great! So it means that we proceed with that plan. We have to just conduct interviews with the existing applicants for now and if they don't agree, we can just erase it from their memory." Astro stated.
He turned to Anika and smiled at her as if he was thanking her for her support. She just smiled back at him.
It looks like there's hope for Earth after all. Anika felt relieved that the transformation will be done in a more humane way.
