I got more and more anxious as time passed by. Beth, my stepmother was less than pleased to learn that I was going away, hugging me profusely to her breasts and weeping on my shoulder. It was a little unnerving to tell you the truth. I mean, who knew she cared to this extent?
"I'm going to miss you so much" she cried, glaring over my shoulder at her husband, my so-called fake father, who stood there stoic, drunk as usual, a grave expression on his face, "isn't there something you can do?" she begged him.
My father looked taken aback. "Interfere with the Luna and Alpha's business" he snarled "I don't think so. Besides, she'll be better off, away from this godforsaken pack" he muttered, taking a swig of his beer as Beth sobbed and turned away, tears trailing down her cheeks,
