"Hey, are you okay?" Kim asked me.
I was in one of the bedrooms getting dressed for the party I organized for Xavier, the same man who just left me standing there like a fool. I went out of my way to put this together while he didn't even say thank you for all that I did.
" I don't have a choice but to be okay. There is a house full of people, and the guest of honor is not here," I said to her.
" I can tell everyone to go home. You don't have to go through with this," she said to me.
" No, the party will go on as planned. People have canceled their plans to be here, I can't send them back home, and besides, the food and drinks have already been paid for, it would be a waste to cancel things now," I said to her.
