Caine burst out of the Clubhouse and practically leaped onto his bike. Turning it around, it roared to life as if echoing his desperation. He tore out of the compound as if Hell was on his heels, barely giving the guard at the gate in time to open it. Somewhere behind him, Rubble and the others followed, but that didn’t matter. The only thing on his mind was getting to Eleanor’s side. Questions streamed through his mind. Why was Eleanor even at home? Why wasn’t she at work? Who was stupid enough to attack her?
