“What would you like? I recommend the mushroom melt if you have a difficult time deciding,” Tristan said as they took their seats in a corner booth of the diner. He sat with his back against the wall, allowing him to watch the rest of the restaurant and other patrons. None seemed to be paying attention to them and that was just fine. Tristan wasn’t wearing his uniform, so he was less likely to be noticed. “Ooo, gross,” Nina sneered. “I don’t eat greasy shit.” Tristan rolled his eyes. Why were women always so picky when it came to food? Nailah had always been one for whole foods and vegetables. She wasn’t a vegan, but she stayed away from processed foods. However, she also didn’t chastise him for eating fast food or ordering steak if they went out to eat. “What can I get you, honey?”
