I felt the sharp prick of Kai's canines piercing into my skin before excruciating pain ripped through my entire body. I'd never heard of such a thing happening before. Whenever I'd heard of someone being marked by their mate, it had always sounded pleasurable and painless. Why did it hurt so badly?
