It's a bright Sunday morning. Instead of feeling miserable about what happened last night, Asia woke up feeling relaxed. She was stretching her body on the bed and got up to freshen up to start the day.
She lives alone in her own apartment since her father is always away for a business trip, and she didn't want to stay at their house. She just thought that it is better than to stay alone in the big house.
She washed her face, then brushed her teeth, and now looking at the mirror, remembering the moment last night with Joaquin,
"He saved me," she mumbled and smiled instead of frowning.
She also wonders why Joaquin is there. She never thought that he would go to a place like that but thank God he's there to save her.
Her friends kept on calling her last night and told them what happened, but not about Joaquin's saving her. She just told her friends that a bouncer saw them and helped her. She also apologizes for not letting them know before she left.
She always used to dance with a stranger every time they went clubbing, but that was the first time she was treated. Anyway, as Joaquin said, bad memory meant to forget, and maybe he's right because she didn't feel bad anymore.
She is now preparing her breakfast with coffee and pancakes. Today she'll be busy cleaning up her place, watering her beloved plants, and also doing the laundry. After doing her house chores, she spent her time watching a movie. Until it's lunchtime, but she doesn't want to eat lunch whenever she's alone and only takes snacks. Living and eating alone is kind of lonely for her, just glad that her dad found Angel so there will be no more alone days for him.
Having thoughts with her father made her miss him, so she decided to call him.
"Hi, dad!" She cried when he answered the call.
"Hi, my dear Annastasia, have you eaten yet?" He asked.
"Yes, dad. What about you? Where are you now?"
"I'm out of town for a business proposal, but I'll be back in a few days later."
"Okay, take care of yourself." She thoughtfully said.
"Yes, my dear, anyways, can you stay at home when I'm back?"
"Sure, dad, I'll be home."
"Alright, I need to hang up now. I still have lots of work to do."
"I understand, see you soon, bye."
"I love you, my dear daughter."
"I love you too, my handsome daddy."
After the call, she decided to take a shower already and go to her favorite cafe to buy some time and thought that maybe Lily is playing in the vacant lot just near the cafe and can ask her to accompany her.
And she is not mistaken. Asia immediately saw Lily playing with the other kids. Lily is an only child like her. That's why she is so fond of her friends. Asia waved in her direction when Lily diverted her glance to her,
"Asia!" She cried and ran quickly in her direction.
"Hi, have you done your homework before playing outside?" Asia asked the little girl who's breathing heavily.
"All is done since yesterday," Lily said proudly.
"Okay, so do you want some treat?"
"Yes! Let's go!" She cried excitedly.
Asia just chuckled with her enthusiasm, and they started walking to the cafe.
"Hey!" Asia cried when she saw Joaquin in her favorite pastry shop, sitting beside the glass wall while looking at the menu.
"Hi!" He looked up and greeted her back.
"I never thought I could see you again here," Asia said.
"Yeah! This place is just near my house, so yeah! I'm here."
'He's like an angel smiling at me.' Asia told herself, looking intently at him.
"Umm, by the way, this is Lily, my little friend." Asia introduces Lily to Joaquin.
"Hi, Lily! My name is Joaquin." He said, waving to the little girl.
"Hi! Do you like sweets too?" Lily suddenly asked Joaquin.
"Hmm, I guess?" He responded.
"Hmm, I suddenly just thought maybe I could treat you to some sweets for saving me twice? Please?" Asia plead to Joaquin with her puppy eyes, but he just chuckled and said,
"You don't have to do that; you don't owe me anything."
"Did you get in trouble, Asia? When is that?" Lily asked in confusion, looking up to her.
'Oops! I forgot that there's a little girl here.' She scolded herself.
"Yes, she always gets in trouble. Actually, almost every time." Joaquin said, teasing Asia.
"Alright, guys, stop talking about my troubles. Can we share seats? Or are you expecting someone?" Asia asked Joaquin.
"Oh! Sure." Joaquin immediately said.
"It's my treat, okay? I know their sweetest pastry that will surely compliment your taste." Asia confidently said.
"Alright then, if you insist, but I will buy us coffee and milkshake for the young lady." He said,
"Hmm, that sounds not right because I'm the one that is supposed to treat you," Asia argued while frowning.
"But okay! I like mine with brown sugar." She quickly regains.
"Okay." Joaquin chuckles while Lily is only watching the two getting their orders as she chuckles softly.
After getting the orders, they sat together at the table with Lily beside Asia and Joaquin across them.
"Asia, is he your boyfriend?" Suddenly Lily whispered to Asia.
"No! He is just my classmate." She quickly answers.
"Why are you blushing?" Lily asked again, then suddenly Asia coughed with Lily's words,
'Am I really blushing?' She asked herself while cupping her cheeks while Joaquin just laughed with Lily's statement.
"No, I'm not! You silly little girl." I denied.
"Yes, you are! Right?" Lily insists and turns to Joaquin.
"Yes," He responded quickly while holding his laughter.
"Don't worry. You look cute when blushing." He added.
Asia felt her heart jump with his words, and Lily slightly elbowed her, and when she looked down at the little girl, she was smiling playfully at her.
"Whatever at least I'm cute," Asia said proudly.
"By the way, do you often come here?" Asia asked Joaquin.
"Well, I think it's my third time?"
"You should come here often, then look for me around so you can also treat me," Lily demanded. Joaquin and Asia laughed together, but Asia suddenly stopped and turned to Lily.
"Stop it, little girl."
"It's okay, Annastasia," Joaquin said and turned to Lily.
"Don't worry, Lily. I promise you that."
Asia smiled with his kind gesture towards the little girl.
"Do you have a little sister?" Lily suddenly asked Joaquin.
"No, I'm an only child." He responded, smiling.
"Really!?" Lily cried with amusement.
"Don't worry. We will be your siblings, right, Asia?" Lily said and turned to Asia.
"Oh! Sure, only if he wanted sisters." She said and looked up at him.
"You can't choose what your sibling is going to be, and I'm pretty sure that he wants sisters." Lily insists.
"Yeah, why not? I always wanted to have a smart baby sister, just like you." Joaquin told Lily.
"You mean, like us?" Lily corrected him.
"Yes." He answered and chuckled.
