Victoria My eyes slowly fluttered open to find Alexander’s face right by my side. My head rested near his as he lay motionless, asleep on the couch behind me. Eyes wide, I backed away abruptly. My hands kept my weight as I panted his way. Alexander didn’t even stir. So I continued gazing at him. Looking around, I noticed we were still in the library. A few birds cawed outside as warm sunrays rained over us. The sky was blue and only the small reminisce of the rain from the day before lay fresh on the ground. I shifted my eyes back to Alexander, whose chest heaved steadily. I gulped away the embarrassment, but then stopped moving and instead spared him another glance. Remembering something, I stood and rushed out of the library, leaving Alexander stranded alone. With rushing footsteps
