Lyle went back into the restaurant, and Ava pulled out of the parking space, reeling from the rollercoaster that was her night. She drove back to the Council building in a bit of a daze, and when she arrived, she knew she needed to vent to someone about what had gone down. Molly and Justin were on their own date, though, so that left the twins as her next best option. She headed up to their apartment, knocking once before letting herself in―the idiots never locked their door. “It’s me,” she called out over the sound of music and revving cars coming from the open-plan living room and dining area. “You will not believe how my date went. Why are men such pigs?” she asked, the last word trailing off when she walked out of the entryway and found five sets of male eyes looking at her. And, f
