Chapter Twenty Two

2290 Words

The next day, we wake at freaking four in the morning so we can start heading back to my hometown. In the car I sleep on Isaac until they switch seats, they are taking turns driving. We finally arrive in front of grandmother's house.  "This is where you grew up?" Luke asks.  I nod. "Yea."   The house is an old Victorian house but grandma always kept it up to date.  We go up the front stairs that lead to a porch that runs along the whole front of the house. We stand in front of the door and unlock it, then I open it.  Everything looks the same as I left it.  We walk into the foyer and melancholy sets in, everything is where grandma left it.  The boys start looking around while I text Miriam that we are already in town. I tell her that we will be going into town to the graveyard later
