Her eyes watched the horizon. Her reactions were unreadable. “In the modern era, the Order of Iona truly sought only to heal the great wounds of the technologic society. The bio-religious wars, the nuclear h*******t that was once eastern Asia, these and more were beyond our control despite our best efforts. Twice we saved Europe on the eve of its own death. We were not able to do so the third time.” So many great works had been done by the Order. They had lost nearly a thousand souls to mankind’s desire to kill their own civilization when the Pulse had destroyed the last ships of the Order’s fleet to leave orbit.
