I was able to get out of the Kingdom. It took me the entire night to escape the walls of Lucarius, slipping past the final barriers that kept me caged. Only when I stepped outside the borders and felt no indication of someone following me did I finally let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding.
I made it. I actually made it out of Kingdom Lucarius. My father’s words, his careful planning, and the stash of gold and necessities he provided had helped me secure a carriage to the neighboring kingdom. As the sun began to rise, the weight on my chest began to lighten.
