My eyes widened in disbelief, my lips parting as I gaped at him. Of all the ridiculous, arrogant—
“No,” I blurted, my voice cracking slightly, betraying my composure.
And there it was, that psychotic smile again, as if he’d expected nothing less.
He leaned in closer, so close I could feel the heat radiating off him. My breathing hitched, and I instinctively put my hands on his chest, trying to push him away. “Are you insane? Who asks someone to bite them?”
“Me,” he said, his voice mockingly innocent. But his eyes held no innocence—only that maddening mixture of amusement and control.
His hands grabbed hold of me again as I wiggled and cursed, desperate to break free from his unyielding grip.
