When I woke back up, I was burning up. I wasn’t sure how long I’d been out, or how it was even possible for me to feel like I had a fever. But I did. I stumbled my way to the kitchen, hoping to find some ice. My entire body was on fire, and I realized there was no ice to be found. Conner had used it all earlier, and it was still in a semi-slushy state, trying to refreeze. I was going to kill him. “Conner!” I shrieked, turning around, looking for the aggravating male. “He’s not back yet!” One of the kids yelled back. Had I not been asleep as long as I’d thought?
