Julie's POV:
The entire atmosphere of the penthouse suddenly changed. Even after most of the smoke had exited out of the open doors, it still felt cloudy and dark in the room. The look in Derek's eyes held a ton of blame as he looked in Devon's direction. I was almost scared to look at Devon, in case I didn't like the story his eyes told.
My eyes slowly made their way over towards Devon. The moment my eyes locked onto his, all I saw was pain, hurt, and regret. All it did was make me more curious about what had happened to this woman named Annabell.
"Maybe I'm not the one who should explain. After all, all you're going to do is deny how it truly happened." Devon responded back to Derek's accusation.
