1: Pliers And Silver Chains

1220 Words
My strength fades the second he throws me onto the hotel bed. Pliers and silver chains glistening in the candlelight. This cannot be happening! I try to scramble away, but my legs are useless. He smiles as he approaches me, knowing I’m weaker from the wolfsbane incense engulfing me. How did he know I’m a werewolf? Usually, I don’t share that information. “I should have listened to my gut feeling!” The lump of dread inside me becomes all-consuming. It had been itching me since I met him in the lobby, but I was desperate for money, so I went ahead anyway. Selling my body is not something I love to do, but right now, it’s my only choice. Until now, it hasn’t been a problem because my werewolf strength could save me if a client went too far. Not this time. Desperately, I try not to breathe in more incense, but it’s already too late. Needing a Plan B, I scream for help. My voice cracks; I cannot catch my breath long enough to be heard by anyone. I gasp, hoping for air that doesn’t choke me. Attempting again, I croak another half scream. All I accomplice is making him laugh. “Not so strong now, or what, bitch!?” he spits, waving his silver chain whip and taking his time. He ensures I see the hooks on the tip of every chain playing with them. “Why are you doing this to me?” I try to look for an escape, but the door could be miles away, and we are too far above the ground for a jump to be safe. “To purify your filth from the earth! Wolf whore!” My question triggers his rage further. It’s like I’ve unlocked some terrible memory from his past. But I haven’t done anything to him! “He must be crazy or something!” I shake my head to clear it and gather my remaining strength. With one last effort, I jump out of the bed. I don’t get far. My feet are wobbly, and I fall against the windows, opening the curtains. Moonlight streams over me as if to calm me. This is the last time the Moon Goddess will bless me with her light, and my tears flow for the first time in years. It’s not fair! I scream internally to the Moon Goddess. She’s with me. She offers no words, but there is a heartfelt sorrow for what will happen. An icy shiver goes through me as I realize there is no way out of this hell. There never was. After becoming an orphan, they never gave me a chance to live. Not that life was simple before that, either. The madman rewards my attempt to run away with his whip. He has no self-control, hitting harder and harder. I curl up against the window as the silver burns me. Hooks dig into my flesh, and with one good hit, he yanks me away from the window. As the moonlight leaves my skin, all my hope leaves with it. I cannot fathom why he is doing this to me. “Submit!” his voice is commanding but slips as he tries to regain control. “Please, don’t..” I cannot do anything but beg. “Don’t what, little mutt?” “Please!” I beg him, and he smiles at me with a hunger I’ve seen in men before. He is planning to hurt me in more ways than one. “Submit to me! You whore! You temptress!” “I will! I submit!” My voice is hoars. If only I could make him stop. When the next lash doesn’t come, I look up at him, not knowing what will come next. He nods to the bed, willing me to go there. I shake, not able to comply. My lips tremble, and the air smells of blood, my blood. “You lying bitch!” He screams at me, losing control again when I don’t move from my spot. He heaves me to the bed. I try to kick him away, but his human strength is beyond what I can muster. He has control over me all too soon, and I lie on the bed in a cross, my legs wide open for him. My wrist and ankles are burning from the silver manacles holding me pinned to the bed. “I will taste your sweetness as soon as I have purified you from your beastly wickedness.” His voice is husky, and he touches the bulge in his pants. I want to vomit. The creep licks his lips. Then he chants in a language I’ve never heard before. He sits on my chest, locking my head between his knees, and forces pliers into my mouth in search of my canines. I try to shake my head and clamp my mouth shut, but it’s impossible to move; he has me pinned. CRASH! Glass shards spread through the room, and his heavy weight is lifted off my chest. I look around, bewildered, and find an enormous white wolf. I’ve never seen a werewolf as large as him before. MY attacker tries to scramble back on his feet, but the wolf rips his head off without an effort. The incense does not affect the wolf at all. He pants from the action of his attack through the window, but not from the room filled with wolfsbane. I’ve never seen a two-legged wolf before. “Is he a lycan wolf?” The wolf’s intense blue eyes turn towards me, giving me an electric feeling. Why does my body react so strongly to his gaze? This has to be a lycan wolf! I have no other explanation for why I have this intense need to… I don’t know what… Show him my neck or something. This is the first time I’m feeling the omega instincts to submit. I’ve always had problems with alphas. That might be why I’m reacting this much to him. I’m not used to wanting to do as I’m told. Something about this werewolf demands my attention. I don’t know how long we stare at each other. As time passes, it gets harder to concentrate, and everything becomes blurry. I’m about to slip out of consciousness when he shifts into a well-toned human body. Seeing his human form wakes me up, and I let my eyes wander. His blond mane hides most of his face; only his blue gaze pierces through. I do not meet his gaze as my eyes drift further down. My savior was first in line when the Moon Goddess dealt out bodies. She must have chiseled his well-sculptured body out of the finest marble. His smooth ivory skin enhances the look. He’s almost shining in the candle- and moonlight. The only thing breaking the illusion are some scars on his arms, which tell me he’s a well-trained warrior, and my suspicion of him being a lycan werewolf increases. I almost forget my pain by just looking at him, but the trouble with the pain is that it will not leave you alone for long. The silver continues to burn my arms and feet, and I cannot ignore it for long. When pain overrides everything else, I scream until my vision blackens.
