It took everything in me not to flinch at his callous harsh words. A lump formed in my throat.
"That's cold," I said quietly, hoping my voice didn't betray me.
“It is what it is. Ryker did what he had to,” Nathan said with a shrug. "He married her to meet the requirement, then cut her loose. Good riddance."
"So you didn't bother to figure out what happened to her?” I asked only to receive a shrug.
