That completely throws me off and I release my grip, frowning. What the hell is wrong with me? I can't understand so many contradictory sensations, my head is throbbing and a feeling of emptiness won't leave me alone for a single second.
"What?," she dryly replies, her eyes seeming to have frozen as well.
I think she's going to tell me something else, but she shrugs when she sees that I don't say anything and, focusing her gaze on the lonely streets; she takes another step out of my reach and away from the house.
Although I feel the compelling urge to stop her, telling myself that her safety is completely at risk, I snort within seconds; telling myself that I shouldn't care, I had already posed a better solution to her and she didn't want to, I can't do anything more for her.
