I followed Alpha Lance's orders, tailing the retreating Western Tribes and Dragon Ash soldiers from a distance with my team.
Suddenly, my wolf spoke in my mind, "Someone's following us."
Surprised, I sniffed the air but detected nothing.
Turning my head, I saw Ulrik trailing us with his group, his gaze fixed on me.
Paisley and the others were with me.
Our mission was simple: monitor the retreat to ensure they didn't harm innocents in other towns.
But Ulrik's team was restless. He kept scanning the surroundings, as if searching for something.
Without asking, he followed us until nightfall.
We continued until we were sure they were heading toward Dragon Ash, then I signaled a stop.
Paisley voiced her concern, "What if they attack us?"
I shook my head. "They won't."
