They ask if my cousins and I want to join in the game. It looks too much like a spelling test to me, so I don’t want to play. Heather does. Sarah Beth is in her room with Riley Rose doing something. I don’t know what that is, just that she’s still too mad to be in the same room as her sister.
“So, you’ve decided for sure you don’t want to bury Momma’s ashes near Daddy?” asks Mary Beth.
“We’ve decided,” says Rita.
“Yes,” agrees my mom. “Majority rules on this one. If I remember right, in the west corner of the cemetery there’s a rise with old oak trees scattered around. I think Mom would have loved it there. It’s so peaceful and scenic. When we get back, I’ll check to see if there are any lots available.”
