Mom dropped me off at Chase's house the next day around noon. It was nice because I knew no one was at home except for him, but I definitely didn't tell my mom that.
"Should I come in and meet his parents?" she asked, examining the outside of the giant house. Usually, when she dropped me off, it was a house down, or she was in a rush. It seemed she was trying to take in the entire estate.
"No, I don't think so. I think they have family visiting out of town, but you guys should definitely meet soon," I said, trying to give a little without it sounding suspicious. Chase didn't have any family over from out of town, but if my mom insisted on meeting them, then I was going to have to come clean about my lie.
