  Brian's POV   I couldn't stand another second in that damn hospital room.   Every single accusation from Vicki's obnoxious friend was like a hammer pounding against my temples. They teamed up, painting me as some cold-hearted jerk.   Ridiculous.   I did exactly what an Alpha is supposed to do—make the most logical call. Silvia's accident was a fact, and Ashley's so-called plea for help was full of suspicious coincidences. My decision back then was the right one. She needed that wake-up call. If not, I can't promise she'd escape unscathed next time she runs headfirst into trouble.
