Plak!
"Ah!"
Samantha held her cheek. "What are you doing, Charles?" said Samantha asking for an explanation of what Charles did to her.
"How dare you say my wife, Damn it!" angry Charles.
Now all the inhabitants of the castle are approaching us. They wondered about what had happened just now.
Danial stepped forward, trying to contain Charles' anger. "Come on Charl, you shouldn't have slapped her. She's our sister, since when did you start hurting Samantha? Usually you protect her," said Danial.
Actually I don't know how close Charles is to Samantha. From what Danial said, Samantha must have meant a lot to Charles.
"What's this commotion again?" exclaimed Adam, who had just arrived.
Samantha glared at Charles, her eyes starting to fill with tears. "You've changed Charles! I hate you!" shouted Samantha, then she ran up the stairs to the top floor.
Adam was now even more confused. "What's going on here Charles?" he asked again.
"No, I'm just getting emotional," Charles said and then he left, I don't know where.
A woman older than me approached me whose name I knew was Marinna.
"What's wrong Rosie, why is Charles mad?" he asked softly.
I shook my head weakly. "I don't know, Marinna. She gets angry too easily," I replied wearily.
Marinna smiled "Charles is like that, as far as I know. But he's actually very nice," he said reassuring me.
I nodded, then smiled too.
"Are you the Mafia too, Marinna?" I asked curiously.
Marina laughed. "No Rosie, I'm Josh's wife," he explained and I understood. Josh was the big guy who cheered the loudest when I first stepped into the dining room.
"Rosie, just call me Anna," he asks and I nod in agreement.
"Want to come with me to the backyard?" bargain.
I pondered for a moment, should I just go along with Anna's offer or look for Charles? But Anna's offer is more tempting.
"I'm coming, but for a moment. I want to go to my room to get my camera."
Marina nodded. "I'll be waiting on the back porch," he said and I quickly agreed.
I ran upstairs in a hurry, not wanting to keep Marianna waiting long. As I ran to my room, I fell down with my knee hitting the floor first, it hurt so bad.
"You've changed Charles, I don't like that, hiks...."
It was someone's voice... like Samantha. Is he with someone? With Charles?
I'm tempted to know what they're talking about. Therefore, I walked slowly and silently towards Samantha's room. When I was a little closer to the door of his room, I saw Danial there, leaning beside the door and eavesdropping on their conversation with his eyes lowered, sad.
Why does Daniel look sad?
"You said you wouldn't leave me, Charl, but you were with that woman! I hate you! You're a complete liar!" Samantha continued and I listened intently.
"You know I love you, right?" Samantha's words this time pierced my heart.
Danial looked surprised, his eyes rounded perfectly, as if he just knew this. He held his chest and I think his heart ached. I think he really likes Samantha.
Daniel stood up from his chair. I immediately hid beside the big pots in each of these alleys.
Daniel passed me. He has a blank stare now, as if his soul was forcibly taken when he wasn't ready, I'm quite sorry for Danial.
I came out of hiding and walked closer to the door of Samantha's room. Not just eavesdropping, I even peeked at them from the gap in the door that was not too closed.
"You still love me too, don't you, Charl? You promised me," Samantha whispered as she looked pleadingly at Charles.
And Charles just hugged Samantha right away, letting her into his warm embrace that I love.
Samantha was seen smiling in Charles' arms. He then looked up and kissed Charles' chin happily.
"I know you still love me Charl," She said happily and Charles smiled sweetly.
Seeing that, my heart ached. I don't like it, I don't like it at all. What exactly did Charles want? If he doesn't like me then why did he marry me?
I immediately left there, lingering there made my heart ache. I'm not jealous... It's just, I don't like seeing them both. I do not like. It's very distracting and makes my heart hurt, eh?
I walked down the stairs wearily. My intention to take the camera I undo. I only brought my diary. I immediately approached Marianna who was brewing her tea.
"Have arrived?" Marianna asked, but her gaze fell on my hand.
"Where's your camera?" he asked again.
I shook my head. "Sorry, Marianna. I'm not going with you, it seems I just want to go to the labyrinth," I refused and he understood after seeing my gaze.
"If there's anything you want to talk about, just look for me Rosie," Marianna said making me feel like I had a big sister female.
"Thank you, Anna."
"Then I'll go first," I said goodbye and Marianna smiled in response.
Wearily, I walked into the labyrinth. After feeling that I was in the middle of the maze, I just sat down. Glancing around and I started to open my diary. I started writing.
December 1, 2018
I was silent, I don't know why.
I just can't think.
My mind is blank.
What if I'm just someone's puppet?
I am confused, what is the meaning of marriage if there is no love in it? What should I do if love itself is not present? Why is there only pain?
If you love him, why did you marry me? Say I'm jealous, but who wouldn't be jealous if you're making out with another woman even though you're already married? even without love.
Rosie.
I took a deep breath, closed my diary and locked it. Enough of my writing here.
"Boo!"
"Ah!" I am surprised. "What are you doing Jackson!" I snapped.
Jackson burst out laughing. "You should have seen your expression Rosie, it was so funny," he sneered.
I picked up the grass and threw it at him. "Eat that grass and shut up!" I was annoyed and made me automatically cross my chest.
Jackson then took his place beside me, he looked at me intensely. I returned his gaze.
"What are you looking at?" I asked.
Jackson shrugged his shoulders. "You have a problem?" he asked right on target.
"No," I said.
"Just be honest."
"Hmm." I rock, is it okay if I tell Jackson?
"I can keep a secret," he assured me.
I pointed my pinky finger at him "Promise?" I asked.
He smiled. "So childish," he said but he hooked his pinky finger on me.
"If you leak it I won't forgive you," I threaten and Jackson chuckles.
"So?"
"So I ate Samantha's croissant, but I didn't know it was hers so I--"
"Not that one, I already know. Straight to the point," Jackson interjected me snorting.
"Tsk! So I was about to take my camera but I heard Samantha's voice, and I accidentally eavesdropped. B-but it wasn't just me who was eavesdropping, Danial too," I said defending myself.
Jackson rolled his eyes, "Yayaya, continue."
"So I overheard their conversation, if Samantha likes Charles, so does Charles. And what I'm confused about is, if he loves Samantha, why did he marry me?" I explained to him.
Jackson nodded in understanding. He then looked at me. "That's because all men are greedy Rosie. They already have one but won't let go of the other," Jackson explained making me wince.
"So you too?" I asked.
And Jackson fell silent.
"I-I...?"
