I gently place Adam in his crib and turn my attention to Lucas, who is peacefully lying in my bed , I can't help but wonder what's going on in his mind. Is he contemplating the weight of becoming the king of all wolf packs? His demeanor seems so gloomy, and it worries me. Is he doing this for me, to ensure my safety, so I won't fall into the clutches of the vampire council and become a lethal hybrid vampire due to my blood?
