The baby was kicking. Ellie stopped the work she was doing at her desk in her office to rest her hand against her abdomen and feel the thumps against her palm. While she could certainly feel the little heels against the inside of her, as the baby seemed to be playing some sort of drum solo on her internal organs, she liked to feel the reverberations against her hand as well.
