Upon completing my interview with Allure Magazine, I glanced at my phone to see a missed call from Jean. A wave of concern washed over me as I realized that William, who is usually punctual and reliable, had not contacted me.
I stood on the sidewalk and looked up and down the street. The unease in my chest was growing.
